Thursday, May 8 and Friday, May 9
Rest days on Saturday and Sunday, May 10 and 11 in the town of Idyllwild. Back on the trail on Monday.  Moira picks me up on Wednesday afternoon.  So far, so good.  Just stopped to set up my tent on Monday night, May 12.

These are pics from Thursday, May 8 and Friday, May 9:

A welcomed sight,,,a stocked water cache leg by a "TRAIL ANGEL" . This I came upon with 9 more miles of a 41 stretch.

This type of lizard is everywhere on the desert trail. They puff up if threatened.
Morning has broken on day 12
Cliffs trails call for heightened feet focus and leaning in!

Check out the solar charged lantern that illuminates my tent! Much appreciated from Stacey, Steve and Sophie!!

So, I hiked Wednesday - Friday, May 7-9 and then met up with Moira for 2 rest days.
Idyllwild, CA has been a most pleasant town to spend two " zero" days - and the weather could not have been nicer; sunny and cool, but still short wearing temps, The San Jacinto Mountains seen in the background, are the backdrop to the hiker friendly oasis.
Tomorrow I will head north into this first major range on the PCT, where within 28 miles the trail elevations range from 1,195 to 9,030 feet.
